FixWin is a simple, standalone tool – no installation required - that helps you to repair & fix common Windows annoyances & issues. This software has the same function as XP Quick Fix Plus and 7 Quick Fix 1.0 which I reviewed in previous articles, but FixWin have the user interface more attractive from both.
FixWin helps you solve the most common problems in Windows Vista and Windows 7. Of course, only for simple annoyances, like the Recycle bin icon missing from your desktop, the context menu not working in Internet Explorer or the Automatic updates not working properly.
FixWin doesn't actually look into your system and uncover problems. The solutions to repair and fix 50 common Windows annoyances, issues & problems have been categorized under 5 tabs, viz : Windows Explorer, Internet & Connectivity, Windows Media, System Tools & Misc Additional Fixes. It lists all the problems you might have, not ones that it knows that you do have. So, for example, it lists "The Recycle Bin icon is missing from your desktop," even if the icon is there. You have to know you have a problem, and then use this program to fix it. It won't uncover problems for you.
If you're lucky to find your particular problem with Windows among the FixWin list (which includes about 50 different problems), fixing it is as easy as clicking the "Fix" button beside the description of the problem.
